Giorgi Tatulashvili Ceramics Studio and Museum
Ceramic Workshop - In the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, Gori’s glazed ceramics were especially famous in Georgia. The master Giorgi Tatulashvili, who still lives in Gori, continues these traditions today, learned the craft from his grandfather and father. Years ago, Tatulashvili’s house in Gori was a place of public gathering. In his workshop, there is a 19th- century wood-burning stove that belonged to his grandfather. Indeed, the Tatulashvili's pottery was famous in Gori, and guests of honor to the city were routinely taken by their hosts to visit the workshop. For many generations, The Tatulashvili family has been renowned for its traditional ceramic crafts, which have been distributed far and wide throughout the country. Giorgi Tatulashvili represents the sixth generation of revered tradition and is now trying to pass on this rich, accumulated knowledge to future generations.
