Gori Historical and Ethnographic Museum – This museum , named after Sergi Makalatia, was founded in 1935. Currently, more than 48,000 exhibits are preserved here , such as metalwork , wall paintings, small-scale sculptures, heraldry, and folk materials. Gori Historical and Ethnographic Museum collects, preserves, and protects movable objects and monuments of cultural heritage found in Gori district, Shida Kartli region, and throughout Georgia. It also carries out scientific research, cultural and educational activities, exhibitions, and publishing. In addition, the museum collects, registers, studies, showcases, and popularizes immovable and movable objects and monuments of cultural heritage. Moreover, the museum accommodates various permanent and temporary themed exhibitions, conferences, scientific sessions, trainings, presentations, educational events, and field research.
