Teacher, Writer, and Public Figure - Aleksandre Garsevanishvili was born in 1864 in Gori (Tsikhisubani). In 1892, he was invited to the Tbilisi Georgian Gymnasium to work as a teacher of Russian language and history. He subsequently organized a Sunday school in Tbilisi, which he headed for many years. From 1897 onwards, he served as director of the Georgian Gymnasium in Kutaisi. In 1921, he returned to Gori and started working at the Pedagogical Technical College . He led the symphony orchestra of Gori in 1933 and the city's residents enjoyed performances free of charge. Under his initiative, first in Tbilisi and then in Kutaisi, he introduced music education. He also worked on pedagogical history and theory, as well as serving as a guide for those studying Russian language. He died in 1959, and is buried at Gori Civil Cemetery.
