Prominent Teacher, Public Figure, Linguist, Lexicographer, Ethnographer, Folklorist, and Publicist - Lado Agniashvili was born in 1860 in the village of Shilda (now in Kvareli district). He graduated from Telavi Theological School, then studied at Gori Master's Seminarium . He also taught at Tbilisi State Public School and Tbilisi Georgian Catholic Parish School. Meanwhile, Agniashvili formed a group of Georgian singers called “Kartuli Khoro," founded the "Georgian Book Publishers Association," and compiled a collection of Georgian folk tales. He laid the foundations for the revival, promotion, and development of Georgian national singing. Agniashvili died in 1904 in Tbilisi.
